As per the leaks, the Galaxy tri-fold smartphone from Samsung which is said to have three screens and two hinges will be more realistic for a launch in the year 2025. It is likely that this device will be released alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 and in doing so will possibly disrupt the foldable phone market.
A New Competitor Arises
A South Korean tipster Yeux1122 has backed up his claims with those of his predecessors and has asserted the LG foldable to launch in mid 2025 which happens to be the time the market awaits the new Z fold and the new Z flip. The design and specifications have not been revealed yet but it is expected that the device will be a strong contender to the huawei tri fold mate XT, that has been launched in China this year in the first quarter of this year newly.
The mate XT was a great success as it was the first tri fold phone for the consumer market and now it looks like Samsung wants to take the crown from huawei in a newly emerged category.
Expanding the Foldable Portfolio
Reports that first emerged in October seem to have suggested that Samsung was likely to increase its foldable products lineup to not only a tri-fold device but a more affordable version of the Galaxy Z Flip 7. These efforts indicate that Samsung has refocused its efforts towards penetrating the foldables market even deeper.
This push comes when the competition around foldables has began to heat up. Google recently launched its Pixel 9 Pro Fold and the device is already receiving commendations, not to mention the whispers around a foldable iPhone or iPad. In order for the company to be able to retain its position as the pioneer of foldables, it might be required to invest quite heavily in coming up with new creative designs, a higher number of features and more appealing pricing strategy.

The Samsung tri-fold is said to include a design with a potential inward fold which should enhance both the usability and durability of the device. As the industry grows, further features about this device are likely to come to the surface including the features of the device, the pricing model and other aspects which would make the device marketable.
