Overview
Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 is a premium Ultrabook that features a sleek and sophisticated design, a breathtaking OLED screen, and a long-lasting battery. The overall performance is great but its relatively low keyboard and slow-charging features are the weak points of the device.
Pros
- Stylish aluminum design
- Intel Lunar Lake processor delivers good performance
- Excellent battery life
Cons
- Key travel is limited on this laptop
- The charging is not as fast expected
The Key Features
- This laptop is powered by Intel Core Ultra 7 256V CPU, and we expect a robust performance.
- It has a 16-inch AMOLED touchscreen display that delivers the best visuals.
- 78-watt-hour battery for unfettered workdays.
Design
Just like the MacBook Pro design, the Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 has a 16-inch shell with rounded corners, and a durable aluminum body with a touch of minimalism. Weighing at 1.69 kg is pretty practical for a laptop of its size, which is also 15 mm thick, hence easy to carry around.
HDMI, two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, USB-A, microSD, and a headphone jack are all the available ports. The keyboard has short key travel, but I suppose one could get use to it, the big trackpad however would help with the usage quite a fair bit.
Display and Audio
The vibrant colors, deep blacks, and 120 Hz refresh rate of 16 inch 3K AMOLED display are surely impressive, not to mention, it covers the sRGB and DCI-P3 gamuts at 100 percent. As much as I would love to argue for their creativity, one sobering note would be its max brightness of 368 nits which seems to be a little bland among the market leaders.
Sound quality across the quad-speaker system with Dolby Atmos can best be described as decent, not surprisingly seeing that the majority of the popular competitors including Apple’s MacBook Pro, all seem to outdo them in this department.
Performance
Working off of Intel’s Lunar Lake Core Ultra 7 processor, the Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 is capable of doing multiple productivity tasks without much hassle and is reasonably suited towards light gaming. Single-core performance is indeed a plus point for the Book 5 but when it comes to comparing multi-core benchmarks against some competitors, they seem to have fallen short.
Casual gaming is doable with casual Intel Arc graphics, but its not recommended as its battery life for heavy gaming seems useless, its 1TB SSD has great storage though comes a bit delayed in terms of read and writing speed when it comes to its peers.
Software and Features
Additionally, through the channels offered by the Copilot AI, users can also engage in the generative AI in system applications, and upgrade the quality of the webcam, among other features. Moreover, various Samsung’s software applications are available also on Galaxy smartphones and bring live transcriptions and better device interconnections.
Battery Life and Charging
As for the battery life, the laptop excels and was able to work for almost eighteen hours in benchmark tests, as well as two business days. However, its performance could be better due to the fact that the charging is rather slow – 65W charger takes a bit over two hours to fully recharge.
Final Verdict
In the range of ultra books, the Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 is one of the best, thanks to its build quality, the touch screen, and the device’s batteries. Even if it will not be able to outperform the likes of Asus ZenBook S 16 (2024) for performance and design, it is hard not to see its benefits such as being a convertible laptop or OLED screen.
