OnePlus Watch 2 Review: A Stylish and Smart Fitness Companion for Android Users

The OnePlus Watch 2 is basically a perfect Android
smartwatch and a great option, especially for OnePlus smartphone users. It
delivers a seamless Wear OS 4, good fitness tracker, and reasonable battery
backup, thus able to compete with many other premium smartwatches.

Pros:

Impressive design and build quality

Integration with Wear OS 4

 Good fitness tracking
capabilities

Hasty charging and excellent battery life

Cons:

Miss opportunity with the fall detection feature

Does not support LTE

The first generation OnePlus Watch was unsuccessful, however
the OnePlus Watch 2 is impressive indeed. For those who are in the OnePlus
ecosystem, this smartwatch is better as it combines both design and performance
that would compete with a high-end model. OnePlus has focused on in house RTOS
with Wear OS 4 as the combination allows compatibility with popular flagship
devices like Google Pixel Watch and Samsung Galaxy Watch 6.

In the health and fitness category, the OnePlus Watch 2 is
quite distinguished. Sensors for heart rate, sleep, and stress support with
dozens of activity types are all present. The watch is capable of compensating
for various advanced running metrics (such as vertical amplitude, cadence, and
pace), allowing for reliable tracking using dual-frequency GPS.

As with all devices that come from OnePlus, in the case of
this watch, there is also a lack of some features such as lesbian tracking and
LTE control, for example, which can be seen in other flagship models. Having
said that, it presents itself decently with impressive battery life, being able
to last a max of up to 100 hours in smart mode as well as 12 days in
power-saving mode all while allowing for rapid charging, fast enough to give
around 1 day worth of power in just 10 minutes.

Strengths:

Flagship Design: The OnePlus watch 2 gives off a
feeling of power with the build quality that is quite robust as well as a super
sleek design that is also available in two different colors, radiant steel and
black steel with an adaptive stainless steel body along with sapphire built
glass and mil-std-810h rating quite useful for rugged purposes. Additionally,
it has some good buttons that avoid any accidental misfires.

Wear OS 4: OnePlus has made the switch to Google’s
Wear OS 4, allowing the device to be used with several Google applications like
Google Pay, Google Calendar, and Google Maps. The hybrid combination of Wear OS
and RTOS ensures that the watch does not suffer from battery drainage problems
and works efficiently.

Fitness Tracking: The OnePlus Watch 2 again takes a
lead in the accent as they expect the users to embrace trying several sports,
which the device will accurately record and then also make it possible to
effortlessly monitor their sleep and manage stress. The heart rate sensor
seemed to determine heart rate accurately and could be compared to some of the
head competitors like the Google Pixel Watch 2.

 Weaknesses:

Absence of Fall Detection: The absence of any means
to detect falls is actually a significant disadvantage, bearing in mind the
Orient Watch 2’s outdoor usage appeal. Fall detection can be important for
emergency scenarios and is a feature in many flagship smartwatches.

No LTE: The OnePlus Watch 2, unlike other high-end
smartwatches, does not have LTE support and thus requires users to be tethered
to their phones in order to receive notifications and make calls.

 Verdict:

The **OnePlus Watch 2** is a major improvement for OnePlus
in the smart watch industry, solving the issues from the first watch model. Its
integration to Wear OS 4 along with great fitness capabilities and a well-made
body makes it quite attractive for Android fans especially those with OnePlus
smartphones.

The watch may lack some top-end features such as fall
detection and LTE connection but it is still very much in competition with
other flagship smartwatches out there. If you’re a **OnePlus** phone user, the
OnePlus Watch 2 is suitable for you but it is also suitable for any Android
device.
